Twenty-five people attended EAG’s first AGM which was held at the Highwayman, near Ipswich, on Friday 1st July and was followed by a meal with a raffle.
Rob Wales (chairman) reviewed our first year and David Cooper (Treasurer) presented the accounts; a small surplus has been achieved so far which is the start of a fighting fund to enable us to run a halter show in the future. In our constitution we said that committee members should normally stay in post for 3 years. Our Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary (Pauline Sandell), Fibre Rep (Emma Taylor) and Shows Rep (Jo Bridge) continue in post, as does our Welfare Rep (Becy Colwil). A list of committee members is now available on the website.
Glenn Davidson had said he had to step down from the committee as he could no longer find time to organize the website but Viv Hamilton had stepped into the breach and got the website up in time to advertise the fleece show. The website will be expanded in the course of the next few months. Members were invited to provide suggestions for website content.
The preparation for the fleece show was well underway and the Alpaca Talk event was being organised for October.
